Albany

,

After landing at Perth Airport, we drove for four hours to reach Albany, a charming seaside town. I recommend packing a jacket and a few pairs of pants, as the weather can get quite chilly. During my stay, I was impressed by the Hilton Garden Inn, which offered excellent service and a surprising variety of breakfast options.

While in Albany, be sure to visit Goode Beach, where the water is a stunning teal and the sand is pristine and white. However, take note that the surrounding oceans are part of the Antarctic Ocean, with currents flowing directly from Antarctica. Even in summer, the water remains cold, so be prepared.

There’s plenty to explore, including The Gap, a dramatic spot where the Antarctic Ocean crashes against majestic granite cliffs, creating a breathtaking 25-meter drop. It is located in the Tondirrup National Park. Don’t miss the blowholes, but be warned—there are many flies. I recommend spending about 3-4 days in Albany, as you’ll want time to explore both the town and its surrounding natural wonders. Some eating options include Albany Indian Tandoori Restaurant and Burrata Woodfired Cafe.
