From Milan, we drove to the Stelvio Pass, where it was bedecked in snow and seemed like a winter wonderland. Just a short walk from Ponte Vecchio, you’ll find the Uffizi Galleries, one of the world’s most famous art museums. Admission is 12 euros, but it’s well worth the price to experience some of the finest collections of Renaissance art, including works by Botticelli, da Vinci, and Michelangelo.
Speaking of Michelangelo, be sure to visit the Piazzale Michelangelo, a spacious plaza that offers breathtaking views of Florence. It’s named after the Renaissance genius himself, and from here, you can take in a panoramic view of the city that will leave you in awe.
Florence truly is a glorious sight, and if you haven’t been there, it should be at the top of your travel list. From its remarkable history and art to its picturesque streets and riverside charm, there’s so much to explore in this enchanting city.
